Delicious 10 Weeker Ski Menu 

Week 1: GENERAL SKI IMPROVEMENT

You can ski a red run with reasonable control with maybe the odd splat! You are either self taught or tired of ‘follow me’ ski instruction and want to take your skiing to that next level.

What is involved in the week?

We’ll start by analysing the fundamental core skiing skills such as: Balance, stance, steering and control of speed and line. Building on your core skills will lead to better awareness of your movements and will help you to stop the Splat.

What you should expect at the end of the week:

You’ll be able to conquer a black run with more control and a lot less splat with your new improved technique.

Week 2: MORE GENERAL SKI IMPROVEMENT

You are starting to feel in tune with the mountain and really starting to get it together on steeper groomed runs and have had an occasional bash at moguls.

What is involved in the week?

We will work on your techniques for steeper terrain and look at how you can prepare yourself psychologically. Over the course of the week you will be and filmed and given feedback to consolidate your performance. 

What you should expect at the end of the week?

Your skiing will have more rhythm and symmetry. You will start to feel and see that you are ready to tackle steeper and variable snow conditions on and off the piste.

Week 3: POWDER & OFF PISTE INTRO

You are now ready to venture off the beaten track and experience powder and Off-Piste. 

What is involved in the week?

Using your new core skiing skills we’ll start by analysing the differences of groomed snow and variable conditions, we’ll look at the adjustments needed for different terrain and snow conditions. Following this we’ll venture off the piste and introduce ourselves to the legendary un-groomed terrain on offer in Verbier and the Four Valleys.

What you should expect at the end of the week?

You’ll be familiar with the fundamentals of ski technique and about tactics both physical and psychological for Off-Piste skiing. You might have had the odd splat, but you have definitely caught the bug and are itching for more of the white stuff!  

Week 4: POWDER & OFF PISTE PROGRESSION

Last week you ventured into the powder and now have a good idea about tactical and psychological approach to skiing Off-Piste, but you want more – More gradient – More speed - More everything!

What is involved in the week?

We’ll get straight into our powder skiing techniques on steeper and variable terrain. We’ll bring video analysis to the variable Off-Piste terrain and start to give the same simplicity of movement to our Off-Piste skiing as we have on the piste.

What you should expect at the end of the week?

You’ll be in love with powder skiing for a start, and starting to find it effortless. Technically your skiing will have more flow and you’ll be thinking about appearing on the front of Powder magazine!  

Week 5: RACE-TRAINING INTRO

You are getting pretty cool on your planks and you’ve been watching Ski Sunday and now you’re thinking its time to test your skiing skills to beyond  recreational. 

What is involved in the week?

We will take your skiing and your knowledge of skiing and the fundamental elements and chuck them all out of the window - You’ll be skiing so fast you won’t have time to think about technique.

What you should expect at the end of the week?

Your core techniques are becoming instinctive and you will be starting to handle steeper pistes at speed and in control – Looking like Bode Millar!

Week 6: FREESTYLE INTRODUCTION

You are fast becoming a strong technical skier and it’s time to throw that all away and becoming the King and Queens of Jib. Yes, let’s rip it up in the park freestyle style! Baggy trousers are an essential option for this week! 

What is involved in the week? 

Well start with various flat land tricks – Then progress to the kickers and rails and wherever your imagination goes. Let it all hang out as there are no rules.

What you should expect at the end of the week?

Riding Switch should be in the bag, 180 switch landing should also be in the bag along with 360s and more.

Week 7: MOGUL TRAINING

You’ve got good skiing skills on the piste, like a bit of speed and excitement in your belly and join some of the coolest skiers on the mountain. Yes, you want to be the next Jonnie Mosley.

What is involved in the week?

Learning bumps specific drills and techniques and adjusting your mental approach to mogul skiing. You will start to see paths through the bumps and even see them as flat terrain.

What you should expect at the end of the week

You will be wishing that grooming machines had never been invented and looking wistfully at Verbier’s famous mogul runs and wanting just one more run – Oh and not forgetting the thighs of steel and a Dinner Roll is next on the menu!  

Week 8: BACKCOUNTRY INTRO

You can ski all over the mountain, you’ve ventured into the powder and have a solid understanding of how to utilise tactics and techniques in a variety of situations. Now it’s time to get down and dirty with the real mountain men!

What is involved in the week?

You will get training from an experienced mountain guide – you know those guys and girls who spend their time climbing and using ropes. They’ll show you how to use appropriate equipment for the mountain environment in detail. You’ll head up to some famous routes and be shown how to navigate the terrain in a safe manner. 

What you should expect at the end of the week:

You will know what to do off-piste and how to do it in a safe way. You will have a basic understanding of touring equipment and will have conquered a small tour – followed by a glorious run.

Week 9: BACKCOUNTRY PROGRESSION WITH TOURING  

You’ve been Off-Piste & Back Country touring earlier in the courses and are starting to see tracks all over the mountain and wondering how to get to those hidden powder stashes. Your all mountain skiing is good and you are now looking for more adventures beyond the piste. This is Week 9!

What is involved in the week?

Check out the guy from Week 8, his beard is longer! And he is going to take you to your physical limit getting you to that far away stash. He’ll feed you mystical cups of fortifying herbal tea from his thermos and then teach you how to ski on those touring skis you have just walked up on! He might even get you to hang off a bit off rope down the side of cliff to access that hidden stash of POW! 

What you should expect at the end of the week?

You’ll know what to do Off-Piste and how to do it in a safe way. You will have a better understanding of touring equipment and will have bagged a summit or two and spent some nights in a mountain hut - Plus discovered new levels of fitness and exhilaration! 

Week 10: MOUNTAIN MASTER

Graduates of our program will now be experienced ski enthusiasts who have touring & racing experience and are potential future instructors, now it’s time for an epic week of fun in the mountains. 

What is involved in the week?

It’s the ultimate skiing week consolidating and taking pride in the previous 9 weeks of training and achievement and just having a blast. We’ll be fine tuning your technique and you’ll be starting to feel like a Ferrari.

What you should expect at the end of the week?

Sore legs, a passion for all things alpine and some pretty tidy skiing – You’ll be booking on for your next Alpinemojo adventure very soon.
