Mont Gele Spring Avalanche

Over ten days of super and unseasonally hot temperatures has taken it toll on the end of season skiing in Verbier. Savoleyre ski area is closed and the grass on the piste is ‘greening up’ as if it is June.

What snow that is left on north facing aspects of the mountains has become avalanche prone causing TeleVerbier to close some of the remaining runs and lifts in the mid afternoon.

Plenty of locals are dusting of their mountain bikes and making fine use of the decent to le Chable.
