Our Saas-Fee Autumn Performance courses offers you the chance to have a pre-season ski fix and a technical kick to start to your winter season, it is also ideal if you are considering taking a ski instructor exam in November. 

During the two week course there are 10 full days of fantastic coaching from our experienced coach Roddy Willis, Swiss Snowsports Ski Pro (Patente) and director of Alpinemojo. Roddy has been involved in Gap Year Instructor training since 2005 with over a 100 of his previous students passing BASI Level 1 & 2 with nearly a 100% pass rate.

Maximum Group Size: 6

Unlike other operators offering instructor training courses in Saas-Fee we operate a maximum group size of 6. We believe this offers you the perfect balance for group safety whilst creating an enviroment for maximum enjoyment and learning.

Course Content

Good skiing results from fluid movement that is adapted to the snow and terrain. With this in mind our main focus will be on developing your core skiing skills.

• Introduction to BASI material 

BASI Level 1

The BASI Level 1 Ski Instructor Course is designed to give you an understanding of ski technique and the skills required to become an effective ski instructor, it is also the start of BASI training pathway, if you are planning on taking the Level 1 then this courses is the ideal preparation for a succesful outcome.

Accommodation

During the course we recommend booking into the 4 star Glacier Hotel which is centrally located in Saas Fee, and an easy 5 minute walk to the lift station. The hotel's sunny terrace is ideal for relaxing in the afternoon after skiing. The hotels accommodation is mostly twin en-suite rooms, each with a television, mini bar, wifi and pretty much everything else you’d expect from a 4 star hotel. If you want to be a little more independent during your stay in Saas-Fee we can help you find a comfortable apartment in town, just let us know.

Afternoons

 Skiing on glaiciers in the autumn starts early and finishes early whichs leave time in the afternoon off snow activities and there is plenty to do in Saas-Fee. Included in the course are 4 after skiing stretching session which ideal for muscles recovery after a day on the mountain and regular video feedback sessions which take place in the afternoon. 

And a little bit more...

Saas-Fee Bielen Sports centre is a 5 minute walk from the hotel with a 25 metre pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and tennis courts. There is also all weather pitches for playing football and skate park too. Or for the less energetic, there are restaurants and bars in the village to explore and the Popcorn Bar is yards from the the hotel du Glacier.

Equipment

Ski boots are the foundation to a perfect stance when skiing – Correctly fitted boots with a good orthotic foot bed can make a massive difference to how you ski. We can give advice on where to buy ski boots in the UK or in the Alps – Just send us a message and we will be happy to recommend a good boot-fitter.

Skis can be hired in resort, send us your requirements and we can advise and check availability for you or if you are looking to buy your own gear then we are happy to help you find the right equipment.

We recommend always skiing with a helmet whilst attending all Alpinemojo courses.
